Internship at the Gstaad Festival Orchestra
Audition requirements
A representative video recording has to be sent with the application for an internship at the GFO.
Unless stated otherwise in the detailed list, the required works may be recorded and uploaded separately (please only upload videos that do not require any password or any download, e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
Please find the specific requirements for each instrument below.
Closing date for applications: 12 January 2025, please refer to the application form.
Violin
- Mozart: first movement of one of the violin concertos (without cadenza)
- A movement/piece written after Beethoven of your own choice

Viola
- Stamitz: Viola concert, 1st movement (exposition with cadenza) and 2nd movement (1-43) OR

- Dittersdorf: Double bass concerto, 1st mvt. without cadenza (in orchestra tuning, with or without piano)

The recording of the Flute and Piccolo repertoire should be made in a maximum of 2 videos, one with Mozart Flute concerto and Vivaldi Piccolo concerto, the other Video with all orchestral excerpts. During the change between the instruments must be done as in a concert situation (e.g. no air noises, no playing a note, ...).
Oboe
- Mozart: Concerto 1st and 2nd mvt
Excerpts
- Bruckner: 5th Symphonie, 2nd movement
- Wagner: Parsifal; III. Akt: 2 tact after [256] - 4 tact before [258]
- Beethoven: 3rd Symphony: 2nd, 3rd & 4th movement
Clarinet
- Mozart, Clarinet Concerto, 1st mvt, exposition (if possible with piano)
- One movement of a romantic Sonata of your choice (e.g. Brahms, Schumann) with piano OR Quintett/Quartett with strings, OR a live recording of a romantic concerto with orchestra

All excerpts must be recorded as a runthrough and played unedited on a german rotary valve trumpet (for the Haydn concert you are allowed to choose your instrument).
